After receiving some response from Warlander, I decided to begin messaging him personally on Discord.
I decided to pick up the implementation of keybinds feature. Above (pictured), the conversation between myself and Warlander discussing this new feature.
Still no responses in relation to the Stargate Network mod, so I have reached out to the main developer of DeedPlanner to ask for permission to contribute.
None of the methods I used to reach out to the community have had any responses. But, I can see there have been some views. I think I will wait for one more week to see if anything changes, and if not I will switch to DeedPlanner.
I began work on contacting the community around the Stargate mod. I tried to contact the latest developer via their email on GitHub, however there was no reply. Therefor, I assumed the project deprecated, so decided to port (convert) this mod to the latest version of Minecraft.
I started to look around communities with open source code available. These are focused around things which I enjoy spending my time doing at the moment. For example, I have a keen interest in contributing to a modding community (in gaming). Also, I would like to work on some 3rd party tools that help members of a community.
After some research, I decided on two possible projects:
Above is a mod created for Minecraft. It aims to add functionality from the Stargate series into the game. Specifically, the means to transport the player from one area to another through the use of Stargates.
DeedPlanner is a 3rd party tool created for the game Wurm Online, which is an MMO. The game is majorly locked down, but users have adopted strategic gameplay methods. In example, DeedPlanner enables one to export the map from the game, and then modify it to create plans for new builds.
